You don’t want to miss the first annual ‘Nigwek: Street Festival’

Organic Street Festival
On Sunday, August 9, Nigwek: A Street Festival for an Organic PEI will take place on Victoria Row from noon to 10pm.
Featured acts will be Two Hours Traffic, Meaghan Blanchard, Teresa Doyle, Smothered In Hugs, Racoon Bandit, Boxer the Horse, The Blueprints, The Danks, The Haunted Hearts, The Maybes, Mi’kmaq Thunder, The Count and the Cuban Cocktail, Bryson Guptill, The Disco Rockin’ Lamas and Pat Deighan and the Orb Weavers.
Chef Michael Smith and organic farmer Raymond Loo will be doing presentations, organic food will be sold by local vendors, and there will be family activities as well.
Nigwek is a Mi’kmaq word which means “something good is growing,” and the festival is a fundraiser for organic educational bursaries, and a promotional event for PEI organics.
