This course is for people who write poems. Whether you are a bold or a shy poet, a published or an unpublished poet, you are welcome. This course offers you: a supportive, positive approach to writing; exercises to stimulate mind, heart, and senses; poetry study to deepen craft; ways to find rich material; new methods of revising poems; practice with the nitty-gritty bits of how poems work; a different approach to feedback; 2 one-on-one meetings with the instructor in addition to 10 weekly classes; SURPRISES.

Beth E. Janzen, MA. Beth’s poetry has appeared in journals such as The Antigonish Review, The Malahat Review, and Grain. Her chapbook entitled Night Vanishes appeared in 2004, and her book of poems, The Enchanted House, was nominated for The PEI Book Award in 2008. She has taught creative and academic writing for 10 years with a blend of structure and spontaneity.
