Lovers of Atlantic and Island writing can look forward to a double helping of literary enjoyment this Spring, with two book elebrations being offered at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery.
This Thursday, April 16th, at 7pm, the Atlantic Book Awards and Festival (http://www.atlanticbookawards.ca) are pleased to present an evening of readings from Award nominated authors, Donna Morrissey and Ian Colford, joined by PEIʼs own David Weale and Orysia Dawydiak. The feast of words continues on May 6, at 7:30pm, when the PEI Writers Guild brings 2009 Atlantic Poetry Prize nominees Brent MacLaine and Alan R. Wilson to the Gallery, along with 2009 Thomas Head Raddall Atlantic Fiction Prize nominee Douglas Arthur Brown, as part of the Atlantic Ink Festival (www.atlanticink.ca). Both events will feature opportunities for discussion with the featured authors, sales and signing of their work, and — of course — refreshments. Admission is free.
