March 24th Back-to-Back Literary Events

Join the PEI Writers’ Guild and The Confederation Centre Public Library, and then the UPEI Department of English and the Confederation Centre Art Gallery for two literary events on March 24, 2009.

The open mic starts at 6:30 sharp in the Library to allow for participants wanting to attend the reading to be able to catch most of it.

Open Mic Night with the P.E.I. Writers’ Guild

Writers take note… do you have a piece of poetry, fiction or nonfiction you would like to share?

Whatever you choose, just make sure you can do it in five minutes or less!

Sign up for the Open Mic a half hour beforehand in the library.

This Open Mic event is your chance to give your words voice.

When: Tuesday, March 24th at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, April 21st at 7:00 p.m.

Winter’s Tales Reading

PEI native and poet David Hickey and McMaster professor and poet Jeffery Donaldson will read at Confederation Centre Art Gallery on Tuesday, March 24, at 7:30. David’s first book, In the Lights of a Midnight Plow, was a finalist for the Gerald Lampert Award for Best First Poetry Book by a Canadian. He is currently a doctoral student in English at the University of Western Ontario.
