“Living with the Loss of a Child”, a writing workshop, will be led by PEI Poet Laureate Dianne Hicks Morrow on Saturday, August 17 at the International Children’s Memorial Place (ICMP), at Scales Pond, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To live is to face, and eventually accept, loss. Loss comes in many forms throughout our lives: grandparents, parents, siblings, and even memory. While every loss brings grief, the loss of a child breaks the circle of life: parents are supposed to die before their children. Using the natural world at the ICMP, participants will do guided writing exercises (in either poetry or prose — their choice) to explore loss and to be surprised by what they discover.
There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required by August 10. To register, or for more information, please email nancy.estey7@gmail.com or, if no email access, phone 902-628-7363.
