The public is invited to meet Dr. William O’Flaherty, author of Tomcats and House Calls: Memoir of a Country Doctor, Saturday, July 14 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the newly renovated Bookmark Charlottetown.
Dr. O’Flaherty’s collection of short stories has become a bestseller in Atlantic Canada since its release in May. Laced with humour, warmth, and insight, this collection of 24 short stories is filled with remarkable characters and situations gathered from a lifetime of living and doctoring in New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
Beginning his training at Saint Dunstan’s, now the University of Prince Edward Island, Dr. O’Flaherty’s 40-year career brought him back to his hometown of Northern Bay, Newfoundland and to family practices in St. John’s, NL and Blackville, New Brunswick.
Now retired and living in Moncton, Dr. O’Flaherty travels frequently to the Island visiting family and friends.
