Travel through a season, a year, or a lifetime with Poet Laureate, Hugh Macdonald, to places that are familiar to all of us with the people we know, as he shows us a series of scenes and snapshots of the human condition in his newest book, this is a Lovesong. This latest collection of poems illustrate how love, loss, and landscape inform the simple beauties of everyday life, and offers an appreciation of shared experience, as well as looking forward to what is new and continuing.

Poet, editor and novelist Hugh MacDonald of Brudenell is the current poet laureate for Prince Edward Island. With ten books to his credit as author and editor, Macdonald is perhaps best known to Islanders through his Random Acts of Poetry which, for the past five years, have brought poetry to the streets and workplaces of PEI. MacDonald was presented with the Award for Distinguished Contribution top the Literary Arts on Prince Edward Island in 2004.
