The PEI Writers’ Guild announces its Annual General Meeting, Workshop, and Open Mic event to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011.

Co-sponsored with the Department of English at UPEI, and made possible with support from the Community Cultural Partnership Program of the PEI Department of Tourism and Culture, the Workshop WRITING FOR CHILDREN with Deirdre Kessler, will be held in Main Building, Room 420, between 10:00am and1:00pm. Deirdre Kessler is author of over two dozen books, and teaches creative writing and children’s literature at UPEI. During her three-hour workshop participants will create storyboards for two children’s stories (one fiction; one non-fiction). Writing exercises will be enhanced by exemplary texts from Kessler’s extensive children’s literature collection. PEI Writers’ Guild members pay $20.00, Non-members: $30.00, and Students $15.00.

Bring your Brown Bag Lunch for 1:00pm–2:00pm and we will serve tea, coffee and sweets.
