A gala book launch and poetry celebration will be held on Saturday, May 8, at 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Haviland Club, at Haviland and Water Streets in Charlottetown, The gala is sponsored by the UPEI English Department and PEI Writers’ Guild.
The evening features new books by Island authors Richard Lemm and David Helwig, a reading by PEI’s new Poet Laureate, Hugh MacDonald, and a special tribute to PEI’s first Poet Laureate, Professor Emeritus John Smith. Island publisher Laurie Brinklow will host the evening. Admission is free.
