LEAGUE OF CANADIAN POETS ANNOUNCES ITS NATIONAL COUNCIL 2009 – 2010

Toronto – The League of Canadian Poets (LCP) at its Annual General Meeting and conference in Vancouver, June 12-14, elected the following individuals to its National Council for 2009-10.

While announcing the members of the LCP’s National Council, President Dennis Reid noted, ‘in the next year we will begin a strategic planning exercise. Working with consultants we will become a more sophisticated, larger organization and the League will have an agenda driven by its members including advocacy for poets, poetry and the teaching of poetry in Canada.’

At the beginning of July the national office of the League moved into new office space.
