The Prince Edward Island Council of the Arts (PEICA) is seeking proposals for five (5) awards to be presented as part of the inaugural Biennial Arts Awards, which will be held this April.

The ideal award is handmade, of a size suitable for presentation on stage, and of size and construction suitable for display in the winners’ homes. The maximum cost for each award is $500.00 (a maximum of $2500.00 for the entire commission).

The PEICA will review all submitted proposals for quality, suitability, eligibility and price. We reserve the right to make a final selection from outside of the proposals submitted.

Only artists meeting the PEICA’s standard eligibility of residence on the Island for the past six months will be considered.

To submit a proposal, please send the following information by March 6, 2009:

* Your name and complete contact details
* Drawings of the proposed prize, please include dimensions and proposed materials
* Images of recent work – paper photos or transparencies can be included in your package; electronic images in JPG or PNG format can be sent to artsawards@peica.ca (clearly state your name and proposal in the subject of that message)
* A CV or resume
* Your price for each award
