Thorns by Maggie Lillo

on

Here’s a shared poem!

Thorns

This is an ill-humored spring

full of vicious rages, sullen gray apologies,

weeks of cold silence

It isn’t funny any more, patience is lagging

Time to let it go, spring forward… Blow away your angry

monologue, there is nothing left to say

The birds have hope

Oblivious warblers… they refuse to forget

your sweetness.
